Cars Forbidden to Canada

It seems most of the Audi's have bumper problems.

A buddy imported a Dodge truck and had to modify to daytime running lights.

Ford GT is on the list yet there is one in my city. Must have been bought from Ford Canada.

The issue isn't buying them here, it's importing them. Ford GTs, S4's, A4 4.2's, S5s, etc are all available in Canada, you just can't import them from the US to Canada.

I didn't get a lot of that too. A Corvette for the U.S. market can't be imported into Canada due to the bumper issue? I can't see the plant making cars with two different configurations for the U.S. and Canada. I wonder if the author was huffing something when they wrote the article.

US vehicles must withstand a collision at 2.5 MPH. Canadian vehicles must withstand a collision double that, at 5 MPH. So, yes, US & Canadian vehicles can be different.

On the other hand, the government said it would harmonize the laws soon.

I don't really understand the bumpers issue.

What Holden said.... stricter standard here until recently. Smaller market, manufacturers don't want to spend the money to comply on low sale vehicles.

It's already done, they were harmonized last week.
