Carrying/Storage Case for the Porter Cable

Does anyone know if such a thing exists? I've always been pleased with my unit but don't like the fact that I do not have a dedicated case to keep it in.

When I have tools like this I just go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy a cheap tool box that it will fit in. I do this with my angel grinder so in the box I have the grinder, leather gloves, and safety glasses along with spare disc and the disc changing wrench. That way I just grab it and go and don't have to worry about needing anything extra.

Porter Cable does make a fitted plastic case for this tool. It's not the greatest; there have been threads on this before. One place I know used to sell the case is Detailer's Paradise.

When I bought mine, I bought the model being sold as a random orbital sander. One of the reasons I did so is because it came with a molded plastic case. I also do woodworking so the vacuum attachment is appealing as well.

That said, a cheap plastic toolbox from Lowes or Home Depot might be a better way to go. The case from PC is huge. If you're just storing it on the shelf in your garage, there's no need for a molded case.

Thanks Lenny, that's exactly what I did. I went to Lowe's and picked up a nice Stanley toolbox for $7.48! It conveniently fits the PC along with five pads. I couldn't have asked for better!

:2thumbs:

I went to Wal*Mart and bought a 58qt Rubbermaid container to hold the PC, pads and used mf cloths. I bought a smaller one that fits inside to hold the clean clothes. I use the box my PC came with to store it and it works fine. I have a Black & Decker toolkit to hold all the cleaning supplies and I dremeled out the top screw & misc bins to hold detailing brushes.

Both fit into the trunk of my car fine even with my sub, amp & cd changer in there.
