CarPro Reset safe for non-coated cars?

I picked up Reset because so many people love it and the only knock is usually cost, but is it safe for non-coated cars? Or will it essentially act as a strip wash?

From the carpro site

[h=3]Precautions:[/h]
  • Do not ingest.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • May degrade organic waxes and polymer sealants.
  • In case of sensitive skin or a pre-existing skin condition, wear protective gloves whilst washing to avoid possible dryness and mild irritation.

I`m sure all kinds of people have reasons for using waxes or sealants that a strong soap would degrade. Or maybe you want a product that you need to apply frequently because you enjoy it. Otherwise I can`t see bothering with an LSP that would be significantly degraded when using Reset. Also seems like you can dilute it a lot more than it calls for. Like I could get a gallon of Reset to last much longer than a gallon of Megs HyperWash.

Another option could be to use it maybe every few mths for more of a deep clean if your concerned with your base protection. But its not a high alkaline strip wash i don`t believe.

Carpro obviously designs cleaning products for robust coatings

Reset is personally on my short list of repeated purchases in my 3 year old detailing life :) I`m just waiting for the rain the next few weeks so i can use it again! We had a very dry summer here so we have low water consumption by laws i guess it is in effect.

If you use Reset at 1oz:5gal (1.25oz:4gal) you should be OK with a regular sealant. I asked this question last year and many people use it on not just coatings. A beauty wax might degrade quickly though.

I have used CarPro Reset since it first came out years ago on my personal coated cars, and on Clients coated vehicles.

It took me a few Reset washes to get all the gunk out of my Optimum coated Jeep but it finally came back to life again and the coating looked and worked great.
This is the vehicle that gets those 4,000 mile trips, and sees no washing for weeks, months, until I finally get back to Northern California..

I only use Reset to wash my coated vehicles and not a very strong rate.. Just a half-a-glug-compared to a full-glug-glug.. :)

When Reset was introduced, I clearly recall Corey (??) saying that the product was intended for coatings and based upon his testing it will degrade traditional sealants and waxes.
