Carpro orange peel pad question

I was looking at maybe trying to get some of the Ford Orange peel out of my car but I dont really want to wetsand. I was thinking of using the velvet pads on my car. Anybody have experience with the velvet pads on OEM paint? Thanks guys!

Yeah I think they will work well for that. Although ford orange peel is usually pretty heavy you might want to use the Denim one instead. I found they seem to work best with Menz FG400 as a compound. Make sure your using the right backing plate as well or you'll end up having some trouble.

You think Ill be good with the denim on the Factory CC? The Clear is medium to hard from what Ive experienced. Also do you think it would be safer to use it on a DA or just use the rotary? I dont have a paint gauge available either.

I highly highly recommend not trying this pad with a D/A. Bad Idea written all over it. You could start with the velvet and switch if you need to. I've logged a million hours on a rotary and I've sanded cars a bunch of times is why I go for the denim one. It works faster. But if you haven't had much experience with either I'd start with velvet.
 
I worked with a rotary before I got my DA but I may just wait until next winter before tackling a bigger job like this. I just got done correcting the paint, taking out the swirls and all of that but it just makes me mad to see orange peel. I guess Im a perfectionist haha
