carpet time! how can i do it?

i know that probably most of you guys have one of those hot water extractors, but how can i do it with out one?

I kind of had an idea:

- spray the carpet with carpet cleaner or shampoo

-with a bucket of water and a brush, i can brush the carpet

-then with a shop vac suck up all the dirty wet stuff

again this is just an idea of mine and i need some good help on this!

Thats the way I used to do it before I got a carpet cleaner. Do a search on here for carpet cleaning. Some of the guys have a method on doing it this way. Here's one.
