Ok i definally have the bug. I have been detailing my familys cars for a month or so now. What i need to know is... i have been using resolve carpet spot remover to get the big spots but using shauve shampoo( yea the hair shampoo) for the carpet. this is the process i use. mix water shampoo scrub. suck up with vac. repeat with warm water. suck up and then just rinse with warm water. and the carpets look good but with this hurt it in the long run. Also as some of you know i ordered Some SSR1 EX-P and Tire Dressing. I hear this hype about caranubu. what is the advantages.....I have detailed about 5 cars so far. Really mainly the insides to almost perfection.... and do what i know on the out side. So i have a little cash after putting the rest in savings.

There was a thread about this not long ago , maybe 2 weeks tops. Do a search it was a good thread .

Well, I would use something automotive based without any oils or conditioners. I mix APC 12:1 for carpets scrub and then extract with hot water many people just use a regular old shop vac instead of a heated extractor and they get great results. There is also 303 automotive shampoo and also a couple good shampoo's TOL makes that dont foam so they can be extracted easily but do a good job.

Woolite and water mix works good .It does foam up alot though..6 parts water : 1 part wool .you can even go to 10 to 1 for everyday uses..

If the woolite foams up so much, why are people using it in carpets? Will it all suck up in the extractor?

Yes sir it does foam up alot ..one day it came shooting out the back end of my extractor and I freaked . But all was ok. I bought a anti-foam solution and add it to the resevior before use. I 've had good results from woolite when using a shop-vac also . It comes up easy .Then brush the carpet in the direction it looks best before it dries completely.
