Carpet Dye????

Have a customer with a Benz that has tan carpet. The kids spilled Koolaid (red) in the back and didn't tell the mom. Now the carpet is stained red and nothing will get it up. They ahve to turn this car in on the lease and the dealership is trying to kill them on the price.:hairpull



Is there a specific brand of carpet dye that anyone would suggest. The customer is a very nice guy and is willing to just about try anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.:chuckle:
 
Thanks D! We only have a week and a half until it needs to be turned in. We just don't have much time to be experimenting. I will give it a try if you it really worked well for you.



Anyone else try this stuff?? (Not that I don't trust D's opinion.
 
I was going to suggest the same thing. Probably your best bet.If your close to Philly PA I'll give you some.
 
The only way to remove red is heat transfer because it dyes the carpet. The way to heat transfer is to take a hot iron and a white terry towel lay the towel on the red stain then take the hot iron and go over the towel it should transfer the red to the towel.
 
Thanks for the replies. Unfortunatley I am here in Indy so I think I am going to order TOL's red stain remover. But first will try the the iron method. Then if all else fails I'll try to dye it. The Benz dealership is pretty tough to deal with. Since the customer is turning the car in and not buying another one from them they screwing him big time.



Not like I can buy a Benz, but if I could I would think twice about it after hearing all this guy has gone through.
 
Good luck Ferg! Just so you know, when you use the Red Stain Remover, you will use a heat source (like an Iron) as part of the process to get the most out of it (it's in the directions on the bottle).

D Tailor, after taking the time to read the instructions on the website I noticed that they specifically tell you to use an iron. Sometimes I wonder how i can detail cars when I can be so freaken lazy??????
 
Lol! Don't worry about it Ferg. Laziness would be not looking for the best solution...which you are doing. Good luck with it and hope your client gets the car turned in no problem.
