Carpet cleaning- Lather, Foam???

I haven't heard of many people lathering their carpets to clean them. I wonder why this is? When I have cleaned I spray stuff down, scrub it with a cyclo or brush, then extract.

I am wondering why foam or heavy lather isn't used much. I don't think detailers use it much, but it seems like it works on exteriors, on house carpets, on hair, etc..... I am wondering if people spray anything down that lathers up really well, then sucks it up???

What are you using?

You don't want to use any product that creates a lot of suds or lather when using an extractor. It can damage the extractor. That is why carpet cleaner are low foaming agents.

I use rug renew from TOL.
