carpet cleaner.......

A pretty complete guide by GSRstilez can be found here.

I happen to use Meguiar's APC+ diluted as per Meg's suggestion. I have also had good luck with Prestone Carpet and Uphostery Cleaner, and Blue Coral Dri-Clean.
I basically spray the stuff on, agitate it with a brush, let it dry and vacuum with my Metro Vac-n-Blo. My carpets are not usually very dirty and the only tough stain I usually need to take care of is the occasional tar or oil that I might track in. When that happens, I spot clean that area with a tar remover before I do my normal carpet cleaning.

Great.......Thanks Chas. great info................i just want to spruce up my carpets a little......... :innocent:

I bought a OTC carpet cleaner by turtle Wax . Its red and yellow can with aa aggitating brush on top. Pretty decent.

I've heard Folex mentioned alot by the members here. I'm going to try that in the near future.

I've recently converted to Folex. I find it very effective and easy to find.
Folex was mentioned in an earlier post and I have used it, but I thought it was more of a spot or area cleaner rather than a product to be used on the entire carpeted area. FWIW, I went back to my Meg's APC+ and gave the Folex to my wife.
Are you using it on all the carpet?

Nope.
What I am using is the Meguiar's APC+ from their Detailers line which has been discontinued.
All Purpose Cleaner is the replacement for the APC+ and from all reports, it seems to be as good or better than the original.

The product you are referring to also has had some good reviews, but again I think it is more of a spot cleaner product. It is also a lot more expensive than the APC. The APC is concentrated and is diluted with water. The old APC+ was diluted about 12:1 for carpet. 12 parts water, 1 part APC+. I don't know the dilution ratio for the new product, but it is probably comparable.
