Carnauba Moose Wax (CMW) Question

I've heard many good things about CMW and would want to try it. However, I still have a good amount of Natty's Blue and S100. Durability is not a concern. I'm more concerned about looks.

Is it worth it to spend the extra $$$ to buy CMW? Why or why not?

I have a black Lexus GS300 (solid black) and is swirl free and maintained with poliseal or PO85RD every 3 months or so.

Thanks.

I think it's worth a shot. I finally got to use the CMW I received from Ricka. I used it on a black car (People say it's perfect for black and red) and I was VERY impressed. I used the CMW over top of Pink Moose (Thanks to the suggestion from Eliot Ness) and I couldn't have been happier.

I say give it a go....I know Scottwax will say the same thing. :xyxthumbs

I say go for it. If you're going to use CMW, I would suggest RMG as a base first. On black, this combo would look amazing. I did this on my metallic gray car and I was very happy with the results. On black it will look even better. Durability really isn't very good, but for looks, RMG/CMW is darn good!

If you have PoliSeal, it looks pretty good over it too. I usually use RMG under it, but on this car, I put it right on top of PoliSeal...

Holds up well for me and the look is absolutely killer. My 3/4ths full jar of Souveran has sat untouched this summer while I've used Carnauba Moose on my car and most of my customer's cars (I also use Opti-Seal regularly).

This is CMW 3 months since application on a customer's car. He bucket washes it a coin-op car wash (he lives in an apartment complex) every week or two.

Would Meguiars #26 be on par with CMW? I've heard good things about #26 too.

I think CMW looks a little better and is easier to apply in that #26 can be streaky at times. #26 is easier to find and less expensive if either of those matter to you. Can't go wrong with either.

When Casey (EisenHulk) and I were working on that black car he mentioned I kept thinking what we could use on it. I finally remembered he had some of my favorite ClearKote products. We wound up topping Pink Moose with CMW and the car literally looked like a pool of black you could swim in. We were both very pleased at the outcome.

CMW is great stuff, I like it better than #26 and zymol concourse (these are the three waxes I've used).

Going a little off topic - I tried to use vmw by hand, by golly that stuff is impossible to remove, even harder than #7 or HD cleanse! What I found was after applying vmw, then a quick wipe, and then go over with CMW.. seemed to clear everything up MUCH easier. Is the pink moose combo easy to remove if done by hand?

I don't know, my experience of CMW's durability was it fell off in a couple of weeks. Perhaps my prep needs work. But then again, I've been using Collinite 476 lately and that stuff stays on forever.

VM, RMG and/or Pink Moose are all tremendous when working in combination with CMW. Another option that has produced mouth watering results for me has been:

1)Optimum Polish

2)Optimum Poli Seal

3)CMW

4)OCW v2 as a topper or used to buff/remove the CMW.

That combo process has been magical on my black paint.
