Care of Rolls Royce Roof

1.) Not sure of material used in late 1980's RR roof tops. I think it's an '88 Silver Spur. Need advice on care and protection. It's a first for me and the owner deserves a proper job for his black beuaty.

2.) What's best to care/clean the grey wool headliner? NOT needed now but may at some time.

3.) Care for the wood trim? 303 AeroSpace Protectant? I seem to have misplaced my Lemon Pledge......:grinno:

Any other advice welcome.

If it's a fabric top you might want to look up and try the RaggTopp line of cleaners and sealers. I use them with great success on all convertiple tops. Read the directions on the cans.

Don't get a headliner too wet. The adhesive used to keep them up fails over time if they get too wet. I usually do a good gentle, brushed vacuum first and then only spot dab spots with my Woolite mixture and then dry as thoroughly as you can.

For quality wood trim (that I'm sure a Rolls has) I've used my least aggressive paint polish and a MF towel in the past. Now I use an AIO product (Zaino AIO or Klasse) and a MF. The added benefit of AIO is it leaves a little protection behind.

Good luck, have fun and if you have time share some pics!

Not sure about a RR headliner but I use Folex to clean headliners. Just spray some Folex on an MF and clean the headliner. Like I said, I don't know about RR headliners though.

A water based dressing will eventually streak down the quarter panels.

I'd just try to keep it applied lightly, and wipe up the excess with a towel. Its vinyl, you can use just about anything you like.
