care for brand new glass

So I know not to ever let Rain X touch our windshields. (we replaced the windshields on both our cars), but what is the best way to keep them perfect. Is Ceriglass by carpro too strong in that it could put very light scratches in the glass if I were to use it for cleaning water spots for example, should I use something less agressive if I'm only dealing with water spots?

How is using M105 or M205 on glass, does it put any crap into the glass, or am I good with wiping it down with 50/50 IPA or Meguiars APC (orange) afterwards.

Basically I just want to make sure i'm doing everything right since we both have brand new glass.

I would just use a normal glass polish and make sure you keep the wiper blades clean. Most decent glass polishes should be able to remove water spots etc. It might make things easier if you apply a glass sealant, I have been using Gtech G3 (prior to that Aquapel) for a while but there is no doubt a huge range of products to choose from

I just purchased a new vehicle and put OptiCoat on all my windows, paint, wheels, door jambs, bumpers, and just about any other surface I could find. It not only helps protect them but makes cleaning much easier.

I do think that keeping wiper blades clean and frquent replacement helps as much as anything you can do. Frequent wiper use degrades almost any protection to a small degree. With OptiCoat (and many other products) you almost don't need your wipers for anything less than a steady rain.

IF i have a customer that is curious and an ethusiast about winshield repellant i will usually sell him or her on aquapel, but i also tell them to buy rain-x 2in1 bugwash with rain-x additive in it.

+1. Aquapel has been one of my preferred products for a long time.

everytime i've put rain x on a window it leads to a streaking action where it looks like the window doesn't get all the water off in a heavy rainstorm when you need to run the wiper blades.

what about diamondite products?
