do they sell refurbished/reconditioned products? in particular the 7336? i opened mine and it seemed...used...the on off switch is scrated up...and it little dents in it. and it just looked it was used.

abd does the pc7336 come with a white polishing pad? cause i did not recieve one.

well how much do i have to pay at customs? anyone here know? and have it shipped here?

i can't drive down there any time in these 2 years...i have school everyday. but if buying it from the states will be a crap load cheaper ill order it from lowes website.

but any who???

anyone have answers to my original questions?

Yeah, the duty is pretty steep, depending on the shipping. But there are savings to be had. $109 at Coastal Tool and then probably $20 Cdn for the paper work, so the savings would mainly be $30 - $40.

As for the original question, I don't know if the 7336 comes with a pad. The 7424 certainly does.

ok so its $20 for duty?

shipping...any ideas?? some guy told me 15 dollar cdn or something....seems a lot...so i doubt its 15$.

You won't have to pay duty as the PC is made in the US (free trade) but you will have to pay taxes (15%) plus depending on how it's sent, you may have to pay brokerage fees. Whatever you do, don't get it shipped by UPS, they charge more for brokerage fees then anyone, get it sent by the USPS. I would say it's going to cost you around $25 usd for shipping (just guessing).

Yeah, no duty because the PC is made in the USA and whatever you do don't have it shipped UPS. USPS is the way to go.

If your lucky and find a friendly Canuck they might send one or bring one up. Works out well in the end.

I bought my 7424, backing plate and counter-weight from coastaltool.com for US$109 in October. It took about 9 days to get here. Tell them you want USPS, not UPS shipping.

US$109 = $135 for the PC

US$22 = $28 USPS shipping

$5 duty

$24.45 tax

Total = Cdn$192.45 including all taxes etc.

Depending on your PST - here in Ontario it's 8% - that works out to a pre-tax price of Cdn$167.34. Good luck finding it at that price in canada with the backing plate and counter-weight.

Porter Cable sell re-conditioned units in Canada for about the same price. However, their customer service sucked when I called so I went with Coastal Tool instead.

I'd suggest going coastal and spend the 50 odd dollars on product. I bought mine through CDN tire when it was on sale but that was before I knew that coastal sells it so cheap.

Vick-e, I bought a 7336 from Lowe's. It came with one white pad and some wood sanding stuff. Good luck, I hope you can find a good deal. Wes
