Carbon Fiber restoration

so last summer i took the wing off my car to find it had left quite a bit of damage to the clearcoat on my carbon fiber trunk. since i cant post pics yet, you can see the damage here...

trunk, damage, terrible!!!

in the interim till i could figure out what to do, i laid a patch of black vinyl over it.

i was told the cause was the fact that i had put a foam rubber strip around the perimeter of the wing, hoping to prevent what it seems to have actualy caused. i was told the foam probably held water and dirt up against the clearcoat and allowed it to soak in (Seibon clearcoats are apparently notoriously crappy).

so, before i was into the whole buffing and polishing scene, a friend of mine who is a real pro took a 2 min crack at it, and i assume tried to compound it out, but had no success. i realy have no idea what he tried since i didnt know anything about polishing back then.

but i figured now that i know about autopia, maybe someone could recommend a way to fix this? i have yet to take my PC to it, figuring that if its in that deep, id need rotary action to get to it... who knows.

i also talked to Seibon and they said wetsand the whole thing down and re-clearcoat it.... which is kinda more of a job than id rather tackle.

the damage is limited to the few areas shown in the pics. other than that the trunk is in excellent shape. id hate to have to strip it and reclear it just for those sections. especially since i dont know how to and would most likely need to pay a body shop to do it.

suggestions?
