Carbon Black Z3 Roadster (bad shape)

I did this car yesterday, and it turned out to be quite a process. The paint was badly swirled but there were also some deep scratches and leaves etched into the hood. I did my best to get them out but some were just too deep so I settled for about 90% correction. The process was:

-Pretreat spots w/ Poorboys Bug Squash 2:1

-Wash w/ Megs Gold Class in foam gun

-Wheels w/ Megs Wheel Brightener 4:1

-Tires/Wells/Exhaust tips w/ Simple Green 4:1

-Clay w/ Sonus Green and ONR QD strength as lube

-Menzerna SIP w/ LC CCS Yellow @ 1800rpm (went up to 2000rpm in a few areas, took several passes)

-Menzerna 106FF w/ LC CCS Green @ 1300rpm

-Clearkote Carnauba Moose by hand

The SIP/CCS Yellow combo did a pretty good job of removing the defects but for some spots I wish I had some Powergloss and a wool pad. I have a LC purple foamed wool pad on the way so that might be helpful for the next beat up black car. Also, this was my first time using Clearkote CMW and I absolutely love it, very easy to apply and it looks great on black. Here are some pics:

I just did a Z3 too! looks like all that hard work was definitely worth it, that black paint looks like its about to drip off the car.

Thanks :) In terms of hours I'm not sure exactly how long it took because I did it over the course of 2 days. She brought me the car in the afternoon so I worked on it into the evening and then picked back up the next day. I'd say it was probably around 8 or 9 hours overall, which is a lot for such a small car. The hood especially took forever to correct. I also did the interior and the engine bay, neither of which were too bad but they took some time.

WOW, thats one of the deeps blacks I've seen in a while! Great job!

The polishing brought the shine and reflection back but I give credit to the CMW for the depth ;)
