Car got Egged!

My friend's new BMW got hit by eggs. She said it looks like it is "baked on like a fried egg". I was going over there to polish and wax, now this! Any suggestions?

give it a good wash and then examine it. if working by hand, try some (feel the finish and clay beforehand if needed; sometimes it may have to be wetsanded if it's etched in the paint pretty deep) scratchx and if by machine, try using a polish or compound (start with the least aggressive approach first). what's wrong with frickin' people these days?

Between this and the post regarding the keying of a brand new vehicle is why I drive a POS anywhere I can't see my vehicle parked and leave the others in the garage. It amazes me the amount of worthless individuals that walk around.

I would wring someones neck if I saw them pulling this garbage.

Bill, the only condition I've seen more severe than egging is keying. You will be amazed at the damage done by egg. Be prepared for major disappointment if you have never tried to correct this condition previously.

Good luck.

I've got a nice egg mark on the side of my truck. I didn't have the truck but a few months and it was my pride and joy (still is when I have time). There's nothing quite like having a perfectly polished black finish with nice round egg etchings in the paint. I've done everything short of wetsanding and the only thing that helps is Turtlewax Colorcure  . I can't get it out, so I have to cover it. When it hits, the shell breaks up and the small parts cut into the clear. Mine are pretty deep, but your's may not be. Good luck with it, I feel your pain!

I'm glad I couldn't find the kids that did it, I'd have probably been arrested that night....

No joke. More often than not, "egged" pannels must be repainted to fully restore.

I really don't think these punk kids realize what they are doing...I think they simply think they are making a mess that's "funny" when, in fact, they are producing thousands of dollars in damage by egging cars.

Really it's the neglect of the parents that is the problem. Egging will be one of many things that I will be enlightening my kids about when it comes time. This is just another thing in a long list of stuff that kids don't realize is bad. My kids will learn from a young age that cars cost a LOT of money and you don't treat them like your matchbox cars. I even cringe when my 18 month old bangs his cars together. :hairpull

This is exactly what I found when my black car was hit. The thrower was courteous enough to target the windshield and the shell and egg matter exploded all over the car. I figured "no big deal". Boy, was I wrong. The damage was very permanent and I can't tell you how difficult it was to clean the egg from the windshield :angry

I had my '95 Accord egged 1 week after I spent 16 hours detailing it. Fortunately (if that's possible) it was in a covered garage. What's funny is I had a brand new BMW on one side and a brand new Mercedes on the other. They didn't touch their cars, just mine. I think they were making a statement that my car was too old to look that good next to new cars.

They hit the trunk, so the egg splattered there then ran down the back side of the car over the license plate and bumper. Because it wasn't baked in the sun, I was able to get it off, except the part on the bumber for some reason.
