Hello,I was hoping I could get some advice on wether or not to use a car duster for removing light dust or pollen.I have a garage kept black Grand Prix and I don't want to put any scratches on it.Thanks.

Personally, I just keep a couple of MF towels in the glovebox. One for dusting - the other in case of bird turd emergencies ! (QD spray is in the trunk)

Some like them and some hate them. Below are a few links to previous threads that might answer your question:

I personally wouldn't use one for pollen because it (pollen) is so abrasive. I do use one occasionally for very light dust on a garage queen. The key is to make sure it is just light dust and to let the strands of the duster just barely float over the car while shaking it out often. YMMV

dust = abrasive, duster = force, you apply force to an abrasive and you're going to get scratches. now, that being said, the scraches will be fine and over time you will have to polish the car to get rid of them but it just comes down to what you're willing to deal with.

personally I use a duster on occassion and I see the fine scratches it puts in the paint but every 3 months or so im out there hittin' the car with the rotary or PC so it's not a big deal to me. If you have an air compressor with a blower attachment that will work and not put scratches in the paint.
