Car Dealers!!!!!!aaghhhh!!!!!!!

I've been so good keeping my Maxx swirl free - QEW and S&W has kept my Dark Blue Metallic looking as good as possible for the LI winter so far. I brought it in for a recall service Friday(normally I don't use the dealer, I do all my own maintenance). Now, this Chevy dealer never does any courtesy services (which is why I use them). The do quality mechanical work, but they are a "no frills" type of delaership. Well, as I walked to my car, I wanted to scream. They "washed it" for me. I went back to the service writer who said "Oh yeah, the manager wanted to try washing as a courtesy since it is the winter..."

So guess whose car looks like it was washed with Brillo????? :ticked

Well, it's not THAT bad, but sure feels like it to me. I know they were just trying to be nice, but...well...you guys know my pain.

So I guess it's some new polish pads & SSR as soon as the weather breaks.

On another note, even though I got marred real bad, the UPP from Nov is holding up great. Still slightly slick, beading well. I also did the windows with UPP in Nov too. Snow and ice removal has been a breeze.

Sorry to hear about the mishap I always worry when my car goes in that they will try to do the same. Have any pics?

I think all of you need to write a note and stick it in the car saying "DO NOT WASH". Never rely on a service advisor to pass the message along. They usually just hand the keys to the mechanic who then passes it off to the towel pusher, who then washes your car with a dirty wash broom.

Dealerships SUCK. I recently stopped going to the local Acura dealership. I now go to a Honda/Acura specialist. They do better work for less money and they don't try to wash anything.

No good Craig.

Seems like there is never a win-win situation. Someone always has to screw it up.

If you have any problems, you know my number ;)

If I do, do you promise not to yell at me for messing up your fine work???

:D

Of course!

I'm human too. Brought Liz's Pathfinder through the car wash yesterday. What a shitty job, but the majority of grime was gone and I saw blue again ;).

Finally cleaned the Maxx yesterday, thanks to the nice weather. Here is the "gift" I got from the car dealer. They are all over the car, this is just a sample.

that just sucks :( that reminds me.. the last time I brought my car to the dealer I requested for it not to be touched nor washed. Well they didn't wash it.. they just wiped the tires, wheels, wheel wells first AND then wiped the paint with the cloth that they were using. ouch :(

You've got to love car dealers....

I just have to figure out what to use on the scratches. I have a PC, not a rotary. I have some FPII, but I've heard that SSR 2.5 is better with the PC. I guess when the weather gets nicer, I'll ask for some opinions.

Unless anyone wants to throw some at me now??

I did mine with ssr2.5 right away, just couldn't stand it. A portion of my hood looked really bad- particles of gravel from the tires got caught in the rag that they used and scratched my paint so bad :(
