Car Batteries

Hello all,

Well as an experiment, I put one coat of Blitz Wax above the belt-line on the drivers half of my car, including half the hood and top. Since Zaino is already so super shiny and pretty deep on my car, it was a little hard to tell a huge difference, but there was a noticeable increase in shine from certain angles. And the slickness really kicked up a notch. I've never felt a towel glide so slippery across any wax, Zaino included.

This is my first time ever using Blitz and it seems lke a great wax. Goes on easy but a little harder than Zaino to remove. All in all, I'm pleased, and I'm probably going to do the rest of the car now just for kicks.

I took a few digital photos of the results and I'll post a link if anyone would like to see.

Very nice pics! Are you going to Blitz the whole car? I'd be interested in seeing the results.

Perhaps when you have so many layers of Z that it gets hard to see the improvement with another layer, slapping on a high-quality carnauba would be a good option.

Intermezzo330I,
Yeah, I went ahead and did the whole car except for lower side panels. I know those first pix weren't the greatest, so I'l try to get more showing reflections. It was a bright sunny day here today with no clouds so showing depth is kinda hard. I'll try to take some better ones tomorrow...

And, yeah, that was my train of thought too about so many layers of Zaino. I've already layered so many that I usually dont see a huge improvement after another coat. And, I know that with that many Zaino coats that protection will last for a long time. So, I thought it would be good to try a quality topper. If it turned out bad, no harm, I could always strip it later.

Ryan,
Unfortunately, Blitz isn't available in too many stores. I got mine from www.motorhead.net There are lots of other sites that sell it as well, such as CMA, AutoFanatics, PerformanceProducts, AutoSupermart, Tascar, etc...

Thanks to all for the compliments! ;)

iforcev8,

Yep, I redo Z1 about every 5 to8 coats, as it seems to add even more slickness and shine to Z2 or Z5.

It sounds like a great idea! The depth and wetness of Blitz with the durable UV protection of Zaino underneath. Prehaps this is an alternative for Klasse+Blitz or Blackfire?

 :)

Btw, would you mind to update us if you can see or feel a difference in dust adhestion on the Blitz'd part of the car compared to the Zaino'd part? Some people claim that its a dust-magnet and isn't practical for daily drivers.

Thanks... :xyxthumbs

Thanks everyone for the compliments! :up

BW,

Yeah, I'd be glad to report in on dust attraction with Blitz. My location isn't very paint friendly anyhow so it should be rather easy to see whether Blitz attracts more dust than normal. So far, there is virtually no dust on the surface. Seems less than Zaino actually, kinda weird.... :nixweiss

Truly, it's not. I have not applied another coat of Blitz since, but if anything I'm actually noticing LESS dust than before. I even expected more dust since the oils in the carnuba would pick it up more. I'm surprised really that the car is staying so clean for so long, I haven't even washed it since then. I'm impressed with Blitz, I just won't be using it on my car again. My next wash will be with DAWN to completely remove Blitz. After a nice talk with Mr. Zaino, it's truly not a good idea to put anything over Zaino. It was fun to experiment, but I don't want to compromise my Zaino protection in any way. In the future, I may buy some Klasse SG and use it with Blitz on friend's or other relative's cars'.

How does applying Blitz over Zaino compromise the protection?

And since Zaino and Klasse are both polymer sealants (with varying levels and qualities of the same primary ingredients), what's not okay for one probably won't be okay for the other.

Well, I don't know all the details or chemistry involved but coming from Sal, I believe it. Basically, over time the silicon and oils from the "wax" could start to break down the Zaino that you already have on the car. That, and obviously the fact that you can't add more Zaino easily means no topper anymore for me over Z.

I don't know too much about Klasse and there's noone really to contact to find out, so I don't know if it has any ill effects on its durability or not over time.

:)
