Here is what I already have on hand:

Adams clay bar and qd

Adams apc

Carpro perl for tires

Einzett interior 1z

Sonax wheel cleaner

Stoners invis glass

I just ordered from 3d:

Hd UNO and poxy

3D trim care

Eco wipes

3d hd metal polish

#000 steel wool

3d waterless car wash

Tire brush, detail brush

Pc 7424xp

Here is the plan of attack and bear in mind I have never polished a car. My car is a 2006 Vw GTI (black)

Adams apc engine bay and detail brush

Door jambs with apc

lighter fluid on windows to remove rainx

2 bucket wash with mg gold class shampoo

Sonax on wheels

Rinse well

Clay bar with qd spray

(debating a 50/50 ipa wipe here)

Polish with orange pad and UNO (when pads come off backorder)

Finish with poxy and polish pad

I will post some pics of paint needing correction when I get home. It seems to be intermediate swirling mostly. However, there is one spot on the hood which is a good size gouge and has the appearance the previous owner tried to fill it with touchbup paint which is bubbled and cracked.

A couple questions I have:

Do I need a AiO step after claying? (klasse or maybe a 3D brand)

I have stoners invis glass for windows? Should I look at aquapel?

After using the poxy I need no further step? The poxy is a lsp correct?

Aren't you using your new UNO? Regardless, use the Waterless Car Wash as your clay lube and and QD go right to POXY(sealant). Feel free to give it another wipedown after too.

Thanks for the reply David. Yes I ordered the new hd UNO detailing kit which comes with the backing plate and the unobpad and poxy pad. However they appear to be backordered. I am in no rush as I enjoy reading and watching machine polishing vids while I wait.

The more I read about UNO it seems like it will suit a novice like me. A lot of posts are warning not to work UNO in as long as with other polishes. That suits me fine because I imagine I will be checking my work on a great deal as I am still unsure of myself. Being that my car is a Vw I have read nothing but posts about how hard Vw clearcoat is.

Should've bought the PC7424XP since Adam's backs it up with a 'lifetime warranty'

Other than that buddy good luck.

No worries. If you get any residue/build up on the surface, just spray the panel down with Waterless Car Wash. It removes it effortlessly. The learning curve is pretty easy.
