Can't shut off. I "need" to be busy.

Does anyone else have this problem? It's starting to get worse for me. I used to use detailing my cars as a relaxing hobby a way to wind down at the end of a 80hr week. Now I've turned it into a business and I'm doing 4-6 cars a week, normal one a night with corrections saved for the weekend. I got the flu last week I've been running a 103 degree fever since Saturday, my wife keeps telling me to take it easy and rest but I get so bored after just 20mins of sitting around. I had canceled my Saturday correction at my wife's request but she left to go shopping with her mom and almost as soon as she was gone a regular called and asked if i could fit his daughters SUV in. So I pushed all day to get her black CRV perfect before my wife got home at 5pm. I'll admit i was feeling it by late afternoon, light headed etc and when my customer arrived to pick up his daughters car he told me I looked like ****. Something to eat and a quick shower and20mins later I was bored and agitated and looking for something to do.

Today was Victoria Day a stat holiday here in Canada and I was up at 4:30 and in my office by 5am to try to get ahead knowing that the office would be nice and quite, 103.2 deg fever shivers and sweats and all.

Am I crazy?? I can't be the only one that's like this.

EDIT: I normally run each morning a quick 2km to get me going and at night 5-7KM to burn of some energy but haven't in the past few days since my throat is so swollen.

edit: see post 10.

DAMN!!! You make me feel SOOO LAZY! I am always on autopia rather then doing my homework on working on a car. i really need to change that as i have exams coming up next week (ALL DAMN WEEK) and then after that i have SUMMMMMMEEEERERRRRRR! Can you say sleeping in till 11 or 12, waking up, playing 9 holes with some buddies then going to the pool. Hang out with some ladies. Go to the movies at 7 party till like 2am. YESSSSS LIFE ROOOOOCCKKKKSSSSSS. These are the days that i dont have a clients car to do.

It sounds like you're overdoing it. I'd do the same thing.

I'm the same way. Not necessarily with doing cars though. But yea, if I am not working or at school, you can bet that I'm either running, working out, cleaning the truck, or shooting pucks in my driveway. I'm the same way, I just can't sit and do nothing. The only exception is when I'm on here or online trying to learn more about working out and dieting properly and all that.

I think you need to talk to your doctor, my friend. There are medical terms for what you are describing but, in a nutshell, you're over doing it and if something doesn't change, you may end up regretting you didn't do something about it while you had the chance.

Not sure if this applies, but just seen a report on marathon runners, that they are very unhealthy. Something to do with the continued long term stress they put there bodies through.

Hey guys well, I guess I was leading myself up to a point. Passed out in my office this morning, got to take a ride in an ambulance to the hospital to be checked out. So here I sit hooked up to all manner of equipment. What I know, my fever was up I was dehydrated and my heart rate was low so I'm spending the next 24hrs here and then I'm sure I'll be at home for the remainder of the week. Most of my wife's family works at this hospital my Mother in law is the chief ER nurse so I'm getting the best of everything. Apparently I get to go for a ride in an MRI machine in about an hour which should be interesting.

Embarrassingly enough I'm only 30 my dad was 36 before he let drive to work all hours put him in the hospital.
