Ok so today im trying to remove a scratch on my friends jaguar, the scratch is on the trunk, and its a very little one that didnt reach far at all, well im using a Black Wool pad and optimum hyper compound to try removing the scratch, i couldnt remove it at all, i did this for 3 passes and then just gave up, what could be the problem, ive spent so much money on supplies and i havent had one successful detail yet this whole summer.

You probably won't ever be able to remove it, just make it less noticable.

Sometimes better is good enough.

I'm using 2000+4000 grit on any deeper scratches that compounding won't remove and I've had great results. The scratches will never be 100% removed if they are too deep though. There's just not enough clear on most cars to be able to remove them completely. Level the scratch off and compounding should "hide" it.

I would assume there's tons of Autopians in Chicago...if you're not having any luck with your products/tools you should find an expert and let them show you the ropes. Or get a test panel from a junkyard and learn via trial and error (that's how I learned)...
