Can't get mirror finishi back

I was detailing my truck the other day, and noticed I couldn't get the sharp mirror like shine it has on the non polished parts. I started off with #9, and a green polishing pad (PC@5) from Excel. After several trys, although it is swirl free I could not get a sharp reflection out of it. Since my truck is white is is hard to get it on picture, but imagine looking at your car at certain angles and seeing something in the background, in the unpolished parts its mirror like with some swirling, but the polished parts have a haze.

I used the least abbrasive product and I am pretty sure I broke down the abbrasive completely. I even tried using SSR1 to get the mirror shine back. Anyone else have this problem?

Well since you had mentioned that you had broken down the product completly then that is not the problem. You can also be buffing the product a little too long! I would say try to mist some final inspection on the pad when you start the buff process and see if that helps. Also are you sure you are wiping the residue off after the buff?

I've had the same type of problem. After following up Z-PC and an orange pad with SSR1 and a DAS green pad, i still have some slight hazing that i see under the correct lighting. The SSR1 helps the hazing, but does not entirely get rid of it and I'm more than certain that i have broken the product down enough as it becomes basically clear. The car looks good after SSR 1, but under halogen lights, the micromarring haze created by the orange pad and Z-PC or SSR 2.5 is still visible.
