Canopy

I just bought a 12' x 12' canopy at ****'s Sporting Goods for $89. You can choose between red, green, and grey. I haven't tried it, but looking at the one on display at the store, it looks like it is pretty easy to put up and take down.

That's funny - the name of the store was * out by the software. Let's just say the name of the store rhymes with Rick's - LOL

Lol...that's funny.

That's a really good price if it's easy setup for one person. I've had a hard time finding one that I thought I could setup quickly by myself.

On the box, they have pictures of a lady, that might be 130 pounds soaking wet putting it up by herself. I will give it a try this weekend, and report back. D(r)ick's also had a 10' x 10' for $69, but the 12' x 12' had a little more heighth to it.

Kinda like the Little Giant Ladder commercial with the 5' 2" , 115# girl easily carrying it up the steps? :) Heck - I'm 5' 10", 158# and can barely get the ladder up the steps by myslef.

let us know how the canopy works - might need one for the track.

As an update, I took the canopy out of the box today. It is packaged about 4' tall, and 10" x 10". It is in a zipper bag, with wheels on one end, and a handle on the other. It took me about 10 minutes to put it up, and 5 minutes to get it back down, and probably 15 minutes to get it back into the bag.

I am sure I will develop a technique to make the process easier after I do it a few times. I am happy with it.

Is this one of the EZ-UPs?

I bought an EZ-UP canopy last year and it does take some work to pull it open, you really need like three people doing it, even though they said it can be done with two.

The price looks good and I'm on "D * I * C * K * S * " sporting goods site now.. lol..

It's not an EZ Up I don't think...I forget the actual brand name. The way I am able to get it up myself is to take it to a grassy area, and stake one of the feet into the ground. Then, I go to the opposite corner, and start pulling it out. I then have to go work the other 2 corners some as well, but I can get it up myself. I then unstake the corner, and carry it wherever I want it.

We got one at Kroger for $69 and it comes with it's own case with wheels and everything. I think it was on clearance though a couple years ago. If it is similar they go up and down easily. I always have help though.

Same technique I used, LOL. I see I am not the only one that thinks that way. Last year a wind storm here in NY killed. Ripped the stakes I had in the ground. I really should have had the weight bags on it. I will be buying another one this year and TAKING the cover off when I'm not using it. Also putting the sandbags on all four sides and staking it down.
