candle wax

I tried using the search but I could not get it to work so I am going to post my question here and hopefully someone can help.

A few months ago I had a candle in my back seat. I was enjoying the smell it was leaving in my car so much that I totally forgot to remove it. Sure enough, the weather got hot enough to melt some of it on my cloth seats.

I have access to a steam cleaner. My question is this...what product should I apply before steaming the wax off? Or any other ideas to removing the wax???

Thanks as always

terry towel laid over the wax and take a iron (like you use on your clothes to remove wrinkles) and place that on the towel for a second and move to a clean spot on the towel. use clean spots on the towel until the wax is removed from the seat and transfered into the towel.

Instead of a terry towel use a brown paper bag, like a grocery bag. Place a section of the brown bag over the wax and apply a hot iron over it. The heat will transfer the wax to the bag.

Great tips!!! Thanks. I would have tried steaming it and just making it worse. :woohoo:

I'll take some before and afters and keep ya updated!!!

I can't really recall.....mountain breeze or something. All I know is I liked it so much I forgot to take it out.

Dam the luck. I guess the detailing god's figured I needed some interior work done. Just another task to add to the list this weekend. :woot:

Only one thing, iron not too hot, remember wax doesn't need superhot! Otherwise it'll work just fine, guaranteed.

Post results
