Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone here would be interested in a group MF buy from JT International? Since I live in the Toronto area, I figured we could all save on the shipping. :) I'd like to pick it up sometime before Christmas.

Thanks!

I would be very interested as i'm looking to get some for the spring. keep me posted

Where abouts are you located in t.o?? i'm in Richmond Hill

I was going to do one but just don't have the time to organize it... Thanks for pitching in.

I'm in Mississauga by the way.

I'd be in for about 100 towels..

~10 Waffles and 90 standard ones.

Confirm your interest in doing it and I'll provide you with final numbers.

I'll probably be interested in 10 waffle and 30 - 16 x 16. What kind of prices r we talking here?

Everybody seems to like these towels, so I'd like this opportunity to pick some up too. Just wondering, is there a quick link to a price list? I'm in Scarborough.

I'm skeptical of this GB for non-Toronto people. Unless we get some kind of really significant bulk order discount I don't see how we're supposed to save anything as opposed to ordering it by ourselves.

For instance, JT International will ship it USPS to you. This means no brokerage fees at the border unlike how UPS charges you. You'd still have to pay duty on it whether you group buy it or not. The initial shipping cost would have to be split, then you'd either have to pick it up or pay to have it re-shipped again....

Hi Everyone,

Let me address some of your questions

2000_EBP_civic: I live Waterloo, but am in Mississauga almost every weekend. 5 mins away from Square One.

Nagchampa/jello_g : I emailed Tom at JT International last night and he's given me a price list which I'll post at the end.

4DSC: Agreed. It only makes sense if you can pick it up from me directly to save shipping costs, otherwise you'd be better off buying it yourself.

Here's a partial price list. We get a 5% discount on orders over $200.00 USD. Not that great, but he's very cheap already.

"Micro-touch" tagged 70/30:

- 16x16 plush towel $2.00 (Peel-off sticker, blue)

- 16x16 plush towel $1.50 (sewn tag, slight mfg irregularity, same towel, just a bit of fraying - cosmetic problem, mint green)

- 16x34 plush towel $4.75 (sewn tag)

- 24x24 plush towel $4.75 (Peel-off sticker)

- 16x24 inch waffleweave $4.00

- 16x36 inch waffleweave $7.00

- 24x46 inch waffleweave $12.00

- 28x54 inch waffleweave $16.50

- Microfiber Mitt $3.00

Also, how would we arrange payment? I don't want to sounds like a don't trust everyone, but sometimes people will order stuff and not want it and I'm not really in a financial situation to foot the bill. :)

Be clear on whether tax is included or not.

For me, I'd have no problem with a 50% upfront fee (via PayPal) and the remaining 50% at pick-up. That way, you're covered a bit.

By the way, if someone does back out, some of us may end up helping you and buying up a few more. I know I would.

That's the good thing about towels, you can never have too many and JT's prices are very very good so getting a few more never hurts. Also, the Autopians are pretty good about helping each other so I'm sure we help you is something did go astray.

Also, I'd set a deadline for ordering and stick to it so that everyone knows when everything will be coming in.

I live just 10 minutes from Square One so that's good.

I would have no problem picking up a few extra towel, however, i probably wont be able to pick them up until late december as my right leg is in a cast right now and i can't drive. I would definatley pick them up though as soon as possible.

I'm guessing those prices are USD right?

Is Tom going to send the towels over marked as "gift" so we don't get nailed for customs? (Customs could get VERY pricey)

Hey guys:

I would also be intersested in buying some good towels. I live right beside SQUARE ONE, and would not mind helping out in any way that is required.

Please keep me informed.

Thanks

Those prices are in US. I don't know if he can do it on a big order, but he sent mine to me as gift, so it cost me nothing other than the exchange.

A few more things to clear up! :)

1) Prices are in USD

2) Taxes, shipping and duty are not included

I'm not sure if he can put "gift" on such a large order.. but I can ask him to put a lower value for the order so if we were hit by duty it would be less.

The deadline on orders is December 6th, 2002!

I will start a new thread for orders to keep everything in order. :)
