I'm gonna hit my Cobra with my PC this weekend and I'm going to use 1Z metallic polish because the paint is in great condition. My question is that I have Zaino'e the car twice. now that I've gotten better with my PC, I wanna make my car look as good as it can. SOOOOOO can I top 1Z with a coat of Z5 then Z2?

1Z Metallic has got some oils and fillers in it, so it may create a bonding issue for the Zaino.

It would be best if you could take a step in between to try to remove some of the oils.

A Z7 wash and then go to Z5 or Z2. Or a wipe down with some ISP and water mix.

I've done Zaino applications in the past where I haven't washed the car after a polishing stage (with oils). I didn't encounter any bonding issues as far as I know. Maybe the I could've gotten a few months more out of it.

Well....I buffed my whole car with my PC and 1Z.....it turned out AMAZING!!!! Then I wiped down the car with cold water, then I topped it with a nice coat of Z2. I don't think I had any bonding issues...the Z2 dried like it would on any other car and came off the same too. Either way....Its a month and a half old car and it looks 10X better than it did when I bought it. Even my mom came out to see what I was doing and she said "the paint looks wet, like you don't wanna touch it!":D

~One man’s opinion / observations ~

I usually prepare a paint surface with a polish that contains oils and then wash it with Z7, I’ve never experienced adhereance or cross-linking problems

~Hope this helps~
