Can wax be removed from plastic trim?

My colleague came into work this morning and said that her kids got a hold of her wax and thought they would do mom a favor and wash and wax her brand new Chevy Trailblazer (only 2500 miles!). Well, they managed to wax every piece of plastic on the car! I went out to the parking lot this morning to look at it and it looks like TOTAL CRAP!

I am always careful with waxes, so I have never had this problem and could not suggest to her how to remove it. Does anyone have any suggestions?!? I thought distilled vinegar might work, but I am not sure....

I agree with bmduncan!! Wouldn't use EF full strength though. I also like Meguiar's #40 diluted with water for this purpose. Not that I get any on the trim...:p

If its rough textured plastic, peanut oil or smooth peanut butter with a tooth brush works fine (I wouldn't use your regular tooth brush though ;))
