Vis Carbon fiber hood paid $50 for it, no damage to the hood itself, just the gel coating looks like ****

my CF wing started to look like that.i didnt have a PC at the time so i wetsanded with 1500 and then 2000 grit, then sprayed some clear coat on.looks damn good now.although if you have a PC id try some compound/polish first.

Had a similar problem with a graphite bass guitar. I sent it back to the manufacterer & they wetsanded it & re-clear coated it. Came out perfect.

That looks more like AIR under the gelcoat ... It's hard to see in the pictures ...

If it's air , youd have to remove it reapply resin and then sand it out and reclear

yeah...that looks more like a problem with the resin....but who knows...give it a try.

I'm surprised to see that bad of a vis...they are mid to high quality.

I have seen a similar problem on one of my friend's carbon fiber wing on his EVO. He sanded with 1200 and 2000 IIRC until all the damage was gone and then applied an OTC clear coat. He did 5 or 6 coats of clear and would wet sand after each coat. As of now, it is over a year old and still looks great.
