Looking for the wettest shine I can get. My cars are both black. I just ordered a porter cable polisher so I am looking for recommendations on a complete system, polishes, glazes, sealants etc. I am a perfectionist so please dont hold back.

Poorboys Black hole, never tried it but would be my first guess, alot of detailers talk very highly of. I also noticed turtle wax has a 'black' wax made exclusively for black cars, but that is risky because of the name 'turtle wax', be forwarned!

what I had in mind was something like menzena polishes, some type of really good sealant and either pinnacle sovereign or chemical guys pete's 53

Menzerna makes some great polishes that I really like. I have been using the Optimum Spray polish and compound a lot as of lately and really like the long work times, and easy removal of them. On black I like the looks of Souveran but it's durability sucks, if that matters to you. The Dodo Purple Haze Pro looks great too and has good durability. But many people have opinions on what the best wax is and they are all right. Comes down to what you like.

Menzerna po85rd is my go to final polish for black. I've topped it with Black Hole by hand and two coats of EXP by hand and have liked the look. You can go straight to your pick of wax after the 85rd also.

I'm going to toss in Prima Amigo, followed by Prima Epic.

You won't be disappointed. My wife's black car is brilliant, deep wet gloss.

If it ever stops raining, I'll take it out of the garage and get some pics.

Poorboys SSR line is great for black... At one time I really didn't care for them but Poorboys made some changes and they are really right on the money now.... and they are very DA friendly....

He said something about new abrasives from over seas......

Having owned two jet black cars and detailed countless others. My combo for black is. Once the car is wash and clayed I use, Poorboys World products for the most part.

Polish the car, depending on the level of marring you might want to start with SSR2.5 or if its in pretty decent shape the SSR1 should do it. If you start with the SSR2.5 then follow that with the SSR1.

Then black hole glaze working that with your PC on medinum to low using a finishing pad.

Sealant EX-P this is the pure seal from PB, I always apply it by hand. Let that cure over night then apply another coat. If your satisfied with the finish head straight to wax. The second coat helps to insure that you have an even coverage and add's clarity to the paint.

I always finish with Nattys red

This car was done using the above combo. Sorry I don't have any decent shots of my black cars.

I've been real impressed with Blackfire Wet Diamond Sealant. Yeah, all the prep-work makes all the difference in the world, but since I've had BFWD on my truck it just has a "different" look about it. And it seems to hold onto that look. Definitely one of the top couple of LSP's I've ever used. I *hear* it looks really nice on black.

I agree 100%. Blackfire is a great sealant. Super slick, easy to use, and a great look. It's one of my favorites.

A good paste wax works the best on black cars with an orbital after ward to enhance the shine, of course with a micro fiber towel. I have used High Luster paste wax in the past, and had great results. black can be tricky..so baby it alittle but the end result will be a good look car for years to come.

Add one for the Blackfire Wet Diamond. It is my go to product and looks outstanding on black. A few coats of the Blackfire Midnight Sun paste wax does add some depth, but doesn't last long. The improvement is minimal and not worth the extra work for a daily driver.

Menzerna 85rd is an awesome finishing polish. What polish you use for correction depends on the condition of the paint and how much correction you are looking for.

I am a perfectionist so please dont hold back.

First rule: Do no harm. I am also a perfectionist and had to learn long ago that you simply can't get true perfection. Knowing when to stop is important. You can drive yourself nuts chasing after every flaw, and potentially go too far and compromise the clear coat.

For heavy correction Meguiar's M105 is aggressive, but heavy dusting. If the car isn't too bad, I like Menzerna Power Finish. Low dusting, good balance of cutting ability with a pretty good finish by itself.

For simplicity for a first time PC user the Meguiar's MF system is easy to use and should provide a result you would be proud of.
