Can ice scratch paint?

There's some ice in the area between the trunk lid and rear windshield on my car. If I try to remove it, am I in danger of scratching the paint on the inside of the trunk lid? The ice isn't really stuck or anything, but I'm concerned about it scraping against the paint on the inside of the trunk lid and potentially causing rust in the future from the scratches.

Yes, ice can definitely scratch paint. However, if you're careful it definitely won't scratch the paint enough to take it off and cause future rusting...

Yeah it's somewhere between ice and snow...enough to make noise when it came off but not so tough that I wasn't able to remove it by running my finger down the channel where the ice was. Hopefully it won't be an issue, I'll take a look at the inside of the trunk tomorrow when it's light out again. I doubt that it came anywhere close to removing the paint, there wasn't much resistance when I pushed it out of the channel.
