Can I label my MF towels with Sharpie?

Is it OK to label my MF towels with a Sharpie marker? I have several towels that I would like to dedicate to certain tasks and want to wash them seperately. Will the marker be bad for the paint of MF?

I was thinking the same thing :D I got different colors because I wanted to do for different tasks, but still I get confused.

I'm also curious how you guys differenciate the task for your MF towels?

I keep them in the Ziploc freezer bags, and just label the bags. When you are done using the MF you throw into a regular plastic bag to know what its dirty. But basically we dont go by color but by the Ziploc bags that we keep them in.

Same here. I also do it with applicator pads.

To differentiate, I mark my better MF towels with a small dot in one corner using different color sharpies. You can keep track of age, brand, use, whatever. This way, when I wash a bunch together, I can tell which towels stay together. I also keep them in Ziploc bags and write the brand name and where/when they were purchased. You can use the same sharpie color when marking the Ziploc bag.

Triple ditto! I keep mine in a ziploc bag labeled with a Sharpie. I do not label the cloth. I also label the bag with the color of the MF cloth. For example, I have 8 Magic Towels that I use only to remove wax and polish. They are orange in color. I labeled a giant ziploc bag "Wax & Polish Removal - Orange."

When used up, I throw in a bin, wash, dry and then place back in the proper color coordinated labeled ziploc and seal up to keep clean and ready to go for the next time.

I have many MF's with different colors for different uses. Like I mentioned, each bag gets labeled with the use of the MF along with the color.

Works brilliantly! :up

A Sharpie Fine Point Permanent Marker pen has worked well for me. Before marking all of my 30+ buffing towels I put a 1/4 solid circle on the corner of one towel and let it dry for a couple of days. I then tested it for micro-marring on a mark-free area of my multiple coat Zaino. It took the same pressure on the marked and unmarked areas to start marring the Zaino.

Now all of my 15 or 16 MF towels are marked - both as to use and also with the source.. Rather than storing them in a baggie, I just stack them on a shelf and cover them with a hard finished, non-linting, cotton towel to protect them from dust and other debris.

I also use MF applicator pads for Zaino. After use I hand wash them in dish washing liquid, rinse thoroughly, and air dry. When dry I spritz with Z-6 and store in a Zip-Lok. Before first use I mark one side with a Sharpie and use only that side. After 3 or 4 uses on that side I add a second mark on the used side and start using the other side. 3 or 4 uses on that side and it goes in the trash.

I use a sharpie or Rub a dub marker to label my MF's. One towel one product. I also keep my towels sorted in labeled one zip bags, so I do not have go through a pile of 30+ MF's and thre protected from the elements. Same goes for my MF app pads.
