Can I have opinions on 22Ple

I would love to hear the Pro's and Cons of the product, and how long you have had it on your ride. Also, would you buy again?

My experience with coatings is limited to Opticoat 2.0, EXO v1, EXO v2 and Gloss Coat. if you can draw and comparisons to these it would help me better understand where the 22PLE fit.

I am looking for a coating for MY car, My Wife's MDX and the newest addition, the Jeep.

Trying to consider all options before making the decision. Also considering 2 or 3 different products so I can see the difference firsthand and report back to you guys.

With me only having 1 green dot and you guys having as many green dots as you do it just doesn't feel appropriate that I tell you what to do

I have not used it. All I can report is that according to the detailer rumor mill 22PLE is alleged to be one of the numerous repacking companies that is simply marketing/distributing another company's product and may have changed sources/formulas is the quest for more profit. For obvious reasons the companies that use or have used third-party R&D and manufacturing hold their secrets tightly.

Echelon (Zen Xero is their most famous product, a two-part coating) has a great rep and is an actual producer. If you want to order some I'd first try their German distributor as opposed to trying to get it from the company in Japan.
Chose Nanotech out of Taiwan seems to be a legit producer and may or may not be a source for some other more familiar labels.
TAC System from Korea is another legit producer, their website used to directly name names of former clients and still has some of them with Xs now subbed for a few letters
Optimum Polymer Systems is, of course, another company doing their own R&D

Kamikaze looks legit but who knows
ArtDeShine also seems legit

The above is just a very partial list.

Being a marketing/distribution shell doesn't mean that a product is bad but it does mean that an extra set of hands is taking a cut. This may or may not be offset by ease of access and quantity importing.

I'm very impressed that you were able to ferret out the names you did of the actual companies making some of these coatings. I will take it from here. My major quest it really to try to find the best products for my cars. In all my detailing experience so far I really have not ran into a bad product. Just some better than others. I also have little interest in the supper high end products as the vs was taught me, it's represents a poor value to me. It's wax it works it looks good but not that much better.

Perhaps I will try it on my wife's MDX as Ronny suggested.

Thanks for the education.

Pretty smart answer for only having 1 green dot

I have not used the 22Ple and don't plan on it. I have much the same info as LostHighway provided and have come to the conclusion many of these "coatings" are simply rebranded product with their own personal tweaks. If you look at TAC Systems you will notice their product line and even packaging and names are very similar to a well know brand. There are new "coating companies" popping up everyday and it gets harder to separate new / revised products and simply re-packaging.

IMO there are only a few brands that have been out and established long term results. CQ, CQUK, OC Pro / OC 2.0. My issue is that although gloss coat comes from Opti and I will believe it will last it is a "new product" and doesn't have the long term results yet. I personally have OC Pro on my truck for 2+ years, had CQ org last for 2+ years, CQUK for 1.5 years currently. Based on how CQ works and comparing the Gyeon line I think it will be very similar and have the same durability. (But who really knows until the long term testing can be done.)

My understanding of the Kamikaze line is that they are coming at the "coatings" from a different direction and a using a polymer resin base that can add protection as well as fill marring and other stuff. But I have not seen any long term tests or proof yet.

This is the kind of answer I expect from having 6 green dots

I don't disagree with anything you said at all. I looked up the other companies and see what you mean.

What I want to try the following in the near future.

I have a few cars left to protect and I will coat them all. My list of things I want to try is:

1. 22PLE (incoming)
2. Geyon (not sure which one)
3. Polished Angel (just not sure what to use as I'm still researching the line)
4. The EXO on my DD car is dead. I loved it but wonder-is there better? did it in 10/13 (I put 33K miles on the car since the detail and it sits outside 24x7) and it still protects but the nutty crazy beading really diminished to almost zero over the winter. Still protects and shines.

Flash, you really seem to have Green Dot Envy.

Actually I want to run the clock backwards and get all Red Dots. If anyone is really my friend here they will help me do this

Mods:

I see where a Green Dot has been added. Please remove both Greens and replace with Red Ones
I remember cartoyautospa had a slew of Red Dots. He is the one I was envious of
