Dear fellow enthusiasts,

I run a very new and successful detailing business in a mountain community. I was curious to know if anyone could suggest methods, tips, and suggestions for detailing in cold freezing, and snowy enviornments. should i use a hot water pressure washer to do washes? someone help... i dont want my business to fail simply cus on seasonal change.

In reality, it's the customers that dictate the seasonal nature of the business, not the weather. In other words, people don't want their cars polished when there is two feet of snow on the ground and grit and grime litter the vehicle an hour after it's been washed.

If you do have clients, you will be able to use 'rinseless' washing using ONR. You will have less than two gallons of water on the shop floor and you can detail entirely indoors.

NTRD- Seems like you simply need a climate-controlled shop environment. I'm not even a pro and I have to have that!

The pros in my area do an OK business in the winter, but they have to consider what to do with the detailed cars while they're awaiting pickup...can't just park 'em outside lest they get all covered with snow. Probably one of the reasons they work out of such big buildings, plenty of room to park vehicles inside (while still keeping them away from stuff like rotary sling and polish dust).
