Can anyone explain this?

Its a discussion about pads with Mothers and Lake Country at The Online Garage. Ive never heard this before, but its from the pad manufacturer. This is an excerpt of a post by Eric of LC.

orange works best for water based products because of foam formulation and white and black work great with petro based products. Youll have to trust me on this one otherwise I have to give the foam lecture (lol).

Judging from the wording, it's a solvent issue. The one pad will break down (in some fashion) from the solvents, the other will not. Sorta like paint brushes and latex vs oil based paints.

I also remember this conversation.

I thought he said that there are 2 different LC pads, one works better with water based products than the other.

I dont understand why. He just said it has to do with foam formulas. I wonder if thats why some pads seem to get brittle and pieces come off.

By the way. that link works for me.

Thanks guys.
