Looking for a good engine detailer, something similar to a CD2 from 3D. I believe the Trim Shine would be that product. Does it protect plastic and rubber, or is it more for just looks?

i'm using it right now on the engine bay and it works just fine, they key is to spray it thin and not over do it. you can always wipe it down if need be...

If your talking about the Instant Shine like the above photo I wouldn't recomend it because of the high silicone in it. Its extreamly flamible, not many people think of this when using dressings. Your spraying silicone in aerosal form over a motor that has lots of areas of spark. Alls it takes is for a lose positive connection in one of the hundreds of wires and boom. Your gonna have some serious issues. I would recomend a waterbase dressing like there Ultra-Protectant. This is perfect for motors and diluted 1 to 1 its makes an incredible motor dressing that is natural looking and more cost effective.
