Campbell Hausfeld PW1095 Hand-Held Auto Steamer $19.95 Tuesday Morning

Campbell Hausfeld PW1095 Hand-Held Auto Steamer. I picked one up today at a chain of closeout stores called "Tuesday Morning". Not sure if they are a national company but I've been to a bunch in the VA, NC, SC area. I noticed a bunch at a store in SC but waited until I got home in VA to purchase one. Luckily they had one left and at $19.95 it was worth it. I've used a similar style steamer "Bissell Steam N Clean" for the last couple of years in my business and love it. I've used it 100's of times. I use it so much that I picked up 2 more for backups.



By no means is this steamer going to be a replacement for something like a TR5. It does however come in handy. It's biggest benefit is you just plug it in and in about 15 seconds it's ready to use. The temperature coming out the tip isn't going to be vapor steam. I wasn't able to measure it exactly but around 180f. The difference in the Bissell and the Campbell is the Bissell uses a replaceable DI filter. The Campbells filter doesn't need replacing. The Bissell you hold a button down to steam on the Campbell you turn it on or off with a rocker switch. I use mine for a lot of spot cleaning on carpets and set but I've used it extensively on complete interior cleaning as well. It makes cleaning up gooey messes a snap. It also cleans hard to reach areas like grooves on consoles, around seat tracks, screw heads, seams in leather seats, peddles and more with ease.

i think there a Tuesday Morning local i havent been in one, im guessing it like Big Lots...

Tuesday Morning is similar to Big Lots -- only not near as organized. They pretty much have everything crammed on shelves. Think of Tuesday Morning as the Big K, and Big Lots as the Target....
 
It would more resemble a handheld dustbuster type vacuum then the teapot type. It's benefit is not that it will reach something that a cannister style steamer couldn't as the cannister style steamers easily will reach more areas. It's benefit is in being able to have it ready to go in seconds and knock out several small tasks quickly. Generally I unplug the cord to my vacuum walk to my passenger window (steamer sits on top my buffer bags), plug in the steamer and by the time I get back to the car it's ready.

When I was cleaning one of our cars I had to clean up a few spot and decided to use the Campbell Hausfeld machine and took a picture to show the steaming. It took me a few moments to get the camera ready which is why there is water in the console. Normally I have the steamer in one hand and a mf towel in the other wiping as I go.

I had my eye on that same thing. Either that or the Brinkman light. Which one seems more worth the purchase?

Brinkman. I can see you refilling the steamer every 2 minutes and waitiing for it to re-heat.

Hehe you won't see that happening. The water tank holds around 18oz. Certainly not a monster but you can use in continuously for 15-30 minutes. I use it on several vehicles a day to clean up minor messes and usually don't refill it for 2 or 3 days. When I've used it on a large task at work or home I sometimes have to refill it. Refilling takes a few seconds. You twist the tank off (it is designed to be grasped easily) and then twist off the tank cap. There is no down time for cooling when you need to refill either. Initial Heat up time on mine (I timed it) was 17 seconds. If you were refilling there would be no waiting for reheating at all.



I haven't used my Brinkman yet and think both are good to have. The steamer in my book is a must have. Again it is not meant to replace a heavy duty steamer. You could clean an entire interior with it and it would do a nice job. It works better though for cleaning up small things or as an addition to your existing steamless interior cleaning method. On a large area or large cleaning task it can't compete with a heavy duty steamer. When used within it's capabilities on smaller tasks I don't think it can be beat.

Thank you for your input. Hopefully by friday i'll have both the steamer and brinkman in my hands. I am glad there is a tuesday morning in my area. They had lots of both products. And I'm gonna buy a Duncan yo-yo from there too. Its only a buck.
 
I was looking for something as an example around my desk that I could clean. I had a 16oz bottle of some automagic wax. The cap was nicely crusted so I used that. Now if the cap were a part of the interior you'd probably grab a small brush, a towel and some cleaner. I used the steamer to clean it. It took 30-40 seconds. This is much longer than it takes me to clean a spot inside a car. Largely because I had to move the spout on the cap around to make sure I didn't miss something that would show up in the photo. I also was up on it pretty close to see what I was doing and fogged my glasses up which didn't help. Hopefully someone will pick one up and find it beneficial. If not it's only $20 and probably could be returned.

I think i need the steamer. I had a steam buggy before but i screwed the cap back on and cross threaded the damn thing. So it wouldnt hold pressure and just steam from that end. And i already have a 500 watt halogen work light from home depot.

I guess I had the consumption and output of my TR5 in mind. If it really lasts that long and is good for minor cleanups i don't see why not have this. I always prefer to steam dirty surfaces before using some sort of chemical. I might even get one of these for myself, even though I got the TR5. :)



by the way, I'm deifinitely getting another brinkmann!
 
stinkin tuesday morning stores are all closed due to restocking. be back open on the 16th. i hope the products are still gonna be the same price.
 
If I recall the retail is $49.95 so for $19.95 it's a good deal. I was going to mention that Tuesday Morning is closed for their stupid twice a year inventory. If you have ever been in one their shelves are such that if they had crime tape set up it wouldn't look out of place. They also are not very large but seem to need two weeks to inventory. It shocks me they can survive closing up like that.
 
so when they open back up, are the prices still gonna be the same 19.95? i hope so cause it would make me feel dumb for not picking it up when it was that price.

Hey bro, there's a Tuesday Morning store over on Fulton and Fair Oaks and it either opened or re-opened Tuesday Morning, no pun intended:rofl



I wanted to go there yesterday but didn't make it, however I did make it in today after work. I picked up the Brinkman Dual Xenon cordless flashlight for $15. They also had quite a few of the Campbell-Hausfield hand held steamer but I balked on that one, I might have to go pick one up, it's only $20. I didn't notice much else that could be useful to a detailer though.

Yep. The price isn't a sale price, it's their everyday price so as long as it's on the shelf, it'll be that price or lower depending on how long they've had them.
 
alright!! that is just the stuff that i like to hear. i would have been pissed if the prices had jumped and i had the opportunity.



rkf- are you originally from 408? im from 510. went from oakland to fremont and now sacramento.
