Camera question

I have a question for some of you professional detailers.

I have been doing details/mobile details by word of mouth for quite a while. Sometimes I find it difficult to document the work I do for customers to see the value in the work I do.(aside from the finished results)

I posted a couple of details in the Click and Brag section to see the reactions from others and I am contemplating doing this for customers.

I am also contemplating doing a fast forward movie to show the work put into a customers car. For each car that I do, and email it to the customer later. I forgot what the process is called. You put a camera on a tripod and it takes pictures at an interval so you can watch a long drawn out event over the course of 1-2 minutes.

Does anyone know what kind of cameras can do this. I went to Best Buy and no one could help me.

Thanks

Dan

Time lapse/Interval. Some say, "stitching" but its not.

I know most mid-level SLR/DSLR will do what you want. I know there are some point-n-shoots that do this as well.

Vimeo.com has some great examples of this. Many use the Canon 5d. I would start there, and read about their setups.

You can use camcorder footage as well. Capture a frame and then edit it on a computer, then compile as well.

An intervalometer is a device which counts intervals of time. (Other names include interval meter and interval timer). Such devices commonly are used to signal, in accurate time intervals, the operation of some other device. For instance, an intervalometer might activate something every 30 seconds.

Interval Timer Photography

If interval timer photography is activated before the fi rst exposure is taken, the camera will record exposures at the selected interval until the number of exposures specifi ed in the multiple exposure menu have been taken (the number of shots listed in the interval timer shooting menu is ignored). These exposures will then be recorded as a single photograph and multiple exposure mode and interval timer shooting will end. Note that unless No Limit is selected for Custom Setting c3 (Auto Meter-Off ; 157) or the camera is powered by an optional EH-6 AC adapter, shooting will end automatically if no operations are performed for 30 s; when recording a multiple exposure using the interval timer, choose an interval of less than 30 s, select No Limit for Custom Setting c3 (Auto Meter-Off ; 157), or use an AC adapter. Cancelling multiple exposure cancels interval timer shooting.
