So I`m working on an `05 Colombia freightliner dump truck that is white and was heavily oxidized. Wool pad with rotary seems to work the best using megs 85 compound and then I try to get bit extra shine and foam pads with da and rotary seem to micro mar the paint . Is this normal for these or am I missing something? Also it seems to the most noticeable on the fiberglass hood and in some spots on the cab it does come out even color wise depending on angle of light.

I`ve used blackfire, menz, 3d. I`ve used b&s yellow and LC black on rotary and just the yellow on da and they left micro marring that came back out when I used megs 85 on a cutting wool pad. It makes no sense

Is there any chance that the wool pad and 85 is too aggressive a combo? With the attempts that you have made, is there a chance that your *polishing* combo isn`t actually finishing the damage caused by the rotary? I`d try a test spot with your go to polishing combo, for example my go polishing combo is M205 on a White LC CCS on the GG6. I know how my combo works on almost all the paints that I have ever polished. Do one pass at a time, with your go to polishing combo, on the test spot, see if the paint is getting worse or better?

Make a mental or physical list of everything that you have tried, start comparing everything to the Autopia Polish Chart in order to establish the aggressiveness of all of your approaches. We`ve all had these moments when we are pulling our hair out, my last was a Black MB, I kid you not I cut and finished the car flawlessly with GG CC with the BOSS Finishing pad on the HF machine, who would have thought? It is the only combo that worked for me.

That urethane paint is a pain. I’m assuming it isn’t clear coated. Maybe try a not as aggressive foam pad. With the same polish. Slow speed and slow movement. Let the polish burnish in. How did you make out with it? I’m assuming you finished it

I did just finish today. I left it with the wool pad finish as everything I tried didnt work including that. Included are the before and after pics

Looks great. That paint is a pain. I used Poorboy’s 2.5 and then 1. Then to ProPolish 2. Then finished up with Polish w/Sealant. I put something else on top also, I forget what it was tho. I used my Snap On rotary with the 8 in wool and 6 in polish pad. Looks nice tho
