Caked Brake Dust

Im working on an Impreza STi right now that has caked on brake dust. I've used wheel gel cleaner with pressure washer rinse, aggressive clay, even CG Grime Reaper and STILL the brake dust remains.



Any thoughts?

Well , I have been experimenting with "Gloss its " wheel cleaner , I have a six to one mix on it in favor of water and this stuff is pretty insane....I have tried tons of brands and this is a good product.I will say this....it does make short work of brake dust....this aint a plug.....I just like trying products that I hear that work good.

I did a BMW last month that had horrible brake dust embedded in the wheel. Two products were recommended to me: Stoner's Tarminator and Sonax Wheel Cleaner. Both worked very nicely and each serves a purpose for me.
 
Try muriatic acid (33 baum) from box stores....dilute it 4:1 with water (add acid to water), use rubber gloves, don't breathe it..spray on wheels, let dwell for 15 secs, then spray off. May have to agitate with brush. Some say it will damage wheels, but I never had a problem. if the wheels are as bad as you say, it is worth the try.

Not sure i would try that on STi rims, but that's just me.
 
I would definitely not use acid on those wheels! What I would recommend (and this product kicks the butt off of any other product I have tried...even wheel acid), is Detail Kings, Brake Up. This stuff takes off the dirtiest, caked on brake dust wheels I have ever seen. It's relatively cheap, so give it a try, you might like it. Ever since I tried this product, it is now my only go to product for wheels (and it is safe on all wheels, except polished aluminum...may cause staining).
