Hello everyone. I did this vehicle a day before the benz detail. The condition was very very poor, almost unrepairable becuase of the "detail shop" in the twin cities.

The coolest part of the car: In the right light the paint is actually chocolate brown and the door handles are black!

Nice looking working and I'm jealous of the garage that you get to work in

eh its nothing special. Its nice to have heat and water though. If it had better lighting I would be in heaven!

Someone's been busy I can tell. Looks excellent Greg. Now hopefully the owners will keep it that way. Where did the swirls come from? I don't see a lot of the big ones like that-- I'm thinking of the brushes used from DIY car places would be the culprit... :bow good work.

Intersting post for me. Was just reading on another forum about a member complaining that the black car that he had was looking brown at certain angles. Most of the members there said that they had not seen the color brown in their black paint. Including me. Was later informed that there is in fact a GM paint that does just what your pictures show, Greg.

Another nice job. In the 1st picks after the car waswashed it looks as if you used a sheepskin mitt and it is beginning to shed. I'm asking because this is what i experienced after using the QEW and mitt..

To answer how the car got this way? No idea really. I will be heading up to that shop sometime soon hopefully to give a little class on how to properlly care for the vehicles.

The shedding on the paint was from my wool pad. I havnt had any trouble with shedding from my mitts.

Another great job Greg.
But I have to ask does this guy have any cars that aren't all swirled up?

Keep up the great work :bigups

All the cars from the twin cities look like these im told. The rochestor vehicles are swirled but i dont think they are near as bad.

Its very nice. It leaves a glossy, but not something you can see your reflection in, shine. Application isnt as easy as a spray would be, but its not hard by any means. I applied it to teh cadillac and when i came back the next day to do the benz, you would have thought i had dressed the tires 5 minutes ago. I swiped my finger across the tire and it was indeed dry. I reccomend it if you like glossy tires.

Wow! That's nice work on black paint.

How do you like using your new lights during details?

They are definatly one of my best purchases ever. Without those lights The cars would have seemed much better. They hide nothing so they drive you to perfection. For 45 bucks, Its something everyone should have.

Greg

LOL could have used that a couple weeks ago LOL, well if i buy more in the future: LIKELY, i will buy those.

i have a question greg:
why do you use such a low rpm on the buffer
i personally you use like 5 to 6k when polishing/rubbing compound
then 5k with a polish or wax
then 2k to buff clean
i started off using like less than 3k on jobs......my cars turned out okay then i uped it to 5 and 6 and my results were amazing
i just did a 1996 caprice with oxidation and heavy swirls just like that cadillac
and theres no way i could do that job with 1500 rpms on a moderately heavy cutting pad with compound
may be your pads cut more than mine

are you using a rotory or dual action buffer
if your using a rotory 1500 should do the trick
buffer you would need a high setting
