Long Saturday for me...

First up, I had a Cadillace DeVille this morning. The owner wanted a "Basic Detail."

Exterior Process:

Simple Green wheels/tire/wells

NXT wash

Zaino Z18 clay w/ NXT wash as lube

S100 carnauba

Quik Shine QD

Meguiar's Natural Shine on tires/trim

Armor All in wells

Interior Process:

Vacuum

Meguiar's Interior QD

Next up, I did an "Express Detail" for a friend. This truck has not been washed at all in over 1 year. It was quite dirty and had some concrete residue on it from some road construction. I think it cleaned up pretty well.

Overall, he was very surprised and pleased. I showed him some proper techniques and supplies, so hopefully he's got some understanding and motivation to take better care of it...he's going to buy some QEW because he lives in an apartment. :)

Thanks for the compliments!

How do you clean the diamondplate toolbox?

We just washed the tool box this time. Usually, it would get cleaned with #0000 steel wool and some metal polish.

Zane, I don't think that's an Eldorado you worked on..... :p

Nice work. I've got an '02 DeVille in my garage right now, I've already put 8 hours into it and that was just for the interior.

Scott - that truck was sitting outside my friend's house in Arlington when you came by...he wants to start using QEW, so I think things will change quite a bit.

Charlie - good catch :D Long day :)

Never even noticed it....

Wow, wish I had Texas weather. Your "havent been washed in a year" cleanups only require soap and Z6. Up here in Maine, if the owner says "oh, I haven't washed it in a year or so", it's gonna need an ABC wash and Powergloss

Nice job getting the concrete off though, did it just come off with a mitt and NXT soap? I've got a car coming up with a little bit of concrete on the hood, so I'd like to hear of any tips or tricks.

Don't get me wrong...the truck still needs a great deal of attention...a very thorough claying and moderate-heavy swril removal are needed, but I was pleased at how well it did clean up with a good wash and QD.

The concrete mess was relatively "fresh." I was able to remove a good deal of it with high pressure water from the hose, and the rest removed during the washing.
