C6 Vette, 2-step polish and Opti-Guard coating

RaskyR1

Rasky's Auto Detailing
I originally detailed this car back in '09 after the owner purchased it, which was covered in rail dust at the time. Since last being detailed the owner has done a few mods, including the new wheels which I coated back in January right out of the box. He also had the roof pieces painted black which gave the car a much better look IMO. However, the body shop had not wet sanded the pieces and they had heavy orange peel which he wanted removed. Overall the car was still in great shape and the rust blooms had not returned, though I hit the car with some IronX anyway since we only clayed it back in '09.

Process:

Wash - Foamed with OPC/CGCW followed by 2BM wash and CGCW

Wheels - P21S Gel and various brushes

Tires - OPC, dressed with Hyper Dressing 3:1

Clay - Blackfire Clay and M34 as lube

IronX - Decon

Wet sanding -1500/2000/3000 by hand

Initial Correction Step - D300/MF on the GG6 (M101 used on wet sanded areas)

Finishing Step - Optimum Polish II/Crimson LC on the GG6

Exhaust tips - Optimum Metal Polish

Protection - Optimum Opti-Guard

Nice work Chad! Car looks incredible, especially the new black panels. I have one question for you...Since you coated the wheels before, would they not clean up with soap and water? Just curious.

Nice work Chad! Roof looks great now! Pretty sad that body shops turn out work like more often then not! At least there was enough there to work with! Word on the street is your with a lift now? True?

Gorgeous! The roof panels being blacked out definitely helps the look of the car. Nice restoration of those exhaust tips, too.

Thanks guys! :)

Thanks Mike! They probably would have but it had been a while since they were cleaned and the barrels had a lot of rust stains from where the rotors dripped down after getting wet. The texture of the finish in the barrels is pretty rough too.

Haha! Yup! I have more write ups coming that we're done on it. ;)
