ok then try a search on rotary!

I like my makita 9227

same pads & polish

be warned these are not fool proof like the pc

So true, kind of like riding a motorcycle, you may not wreck in the first year, but you will wreck sometime. I did great for a while then hit a mirror and burned to the plastic :grrr

great deals on the hitachi @ autogeek.net, or buy it solo from a trool vendor.

want a super cheap way to get into rotary polishing . . . try to find a vector brand polisher - ( ijust saw one at pep boys , no price in it though, but they range from 50 to 80 depending where you buy them

makita, dewalt and metabo are the most expensive, and most popular - at least form what iv gathered here on the forums.

i have a hitachi and love it

you will burn paint, everyone has. there are som that claimed they havent . . . but after using one and watching many others . . . . i wouldent beleive it.

so practice practice practice. find junk panals and use your beat up pads from your PC that you have though of replacing. intentionally burn the paint, so you can get an idea of how hot paint can get (just roughly - every make has a different type and hardness of clear coat) and how best to move the unit. you dont want to reuse pads that you have burned paint with. Some people might try to save them but 10 bucks for a new pad vs. bodyshop for paint you damaged is an obvious decision.

rotaries are fun , as long as you pay attention, always start with the least agressive pad and product, and keep the unit moving at all costs . . a rotary, unless your a pro, should never be NOT in motion.
