Business names and slogans

Saturday I was on my way to get a hair cut and I passed a truck on the highway that had an advertisement for a barbecue place on the back window. I can't remember the name exactly but it was something Smokehouse. There was a picture of a pig below the name and it said "Butts and Bones" under the pig and gave their contact info and said they cater events too.

After seeing the "Butts and Bones" I laughed and it made me think that I probably wouldn't want to try the food if their serving me butt meat. I know some meat is from the portion but that's not the way I would want to advertise my business. I actually enjoy barbecue and I've become pretty good at smoking brisket and ribs and this is something that's crossed my mind from time to time.

Today on my way to work I thought about how this can apply to detailing. I've come up with a good name and slogan for my new detailing business

Arrogant Detailing - "I Know Everything About Detailing"

Kidding of course

On my business card across the bottom I have "Full Service Detailer, Over Third Years Experience"

I really didn't want a slogan or snappy saying. I wanted to portray myself as an experienced detailer that someone could trust. Basically that's what this business is built from. I will say that I like the "butts & bones" makes you laugh.

I'm not really into slogans but when you look around a lot of businesses use them. Heck just open the supply cabinet and I can almost name the slogan of every detail product I have.

When my brother heard the Butts and Bones he said he would probably not eat there. I guess their slogan turned him off to the food. That's always a possibility when picking slogans or sayings

I think one has to be somewhat careful in their slogans. Something that may be humorous to you may be offensive to someone else and end up costing you money as in the Butts And Bones.

I've often thought about funny, double entendre sayings a detailer could use for their business.

"We service you by hand"
"Free rim jobs"....this one is just overtly perverted I think, but could work
"We get into all your cracks and crevices"
"Get it wet and make it slick"....for a wash and wax only detailer
"We use protection" or "We use the best protection"......pertaining to LSPs

That's all that comes to mind currently.

Hope this doesn't get me banned.

When I read the title, my brain started working.
Then I read some of the responses and my brain shut off.
I better leave this one alone!

Come on Todd, after seeing your Vanilla Ice rap I'm interested in what you got.

Originally when I made the post I was thinking about how the right slogan can make your business memorable and how the wrong one can cost you business.
