bumper paint job.

Deep scratch guy.
Hiya,

My 1st post here, a buddy of mine, he told me come to this great site.

I have a question. I just done a bumper repainted by my self. I got the primer, basecoat and clear coated. Now, here's what I try to do. I buff the sh*t of it and still can't get it shine like the OEM lookin. Now, will the PC will do the job? If I want to get the PC, what other sponge(sp) do I need? :nixweiss

thanks

what you may want to do is wetsand the bumper. Start w/ 2000 grit working up to 3000 grit, Then youll need a somewahat aggressive polish to remove the wetsanding marks, after removing them, work your way down to a less aggressive polish to remoce hazing left from the aggressive polish. Then finish w/ a fine polish and a sealant or wax of your choice. If you decide to get the PC, you will need cutting pads, polishing pads and finishing pads. You can remove wetsanding marks w/ the pc and Meguiars DACP as i have personally removed them. I hope this answered some of your questions.

Thanks for the reply. I did use the 1500-2550 grit wetsand. I use the TW Rubbin Compound. I also use the Zaino #6(I think thats the #). Here's the part I wanted to know. How long do I need to wait before I do the rubbin compound/sealant/wax on the paint?

And I so see there's alot of orange peel too. Man, I might get the PC and few cutting pads.
