Can bug damage be polished out. If so, which polish should i use with the porter cable? My says he's tried everything to "wash" them off.

depends on how long they have been there if they have been sitting on the car for a long time than there is a good chance that it etched a hole in the clear coat. If that happens you could try 2,000 grit sandpaper and if that doesn't work then its just to deep. If they have only been there for a short time than there is a good chance they will go away with a swirl remover or some sort of polish.

Do you have a picture?

What products have you used to try to remove the old bugs? This would help us a lot in troubleshooting your cause.

Way to go Pockets!:bigups

Giving tech advice..... Poorboy would be proud.

Clay works well at getting bugs off in most cases. If clay doesn't get it or bug remover then most likely it is damage that has gone too far into the clear. The 1,500-2,000 grit wetsanding would be your last resort option. I wouldn't wet sand unless you are comfortable with doing it. You could make things worse.

I'd try a little polish after the clay and see what you have...it's usually not going to help sanding where a bug has left its mark;)

I find bugs melt deeply in to paint, particularly bumper paint. You can try whatever, but do it in a small area.

I am in no position to give tech advice ,but I highly recommend to buy a bottle of Poorboy Bug squash ,this is an amazing product ,it just dissolves baked in bird poop/bugs in a matter of seconds.
I think anyone who wants to take care of the car's paint should have one .

If you do get it don't forget to dilute it 3:1 so it wont take off the wax or sealant you worked so hard to put on and you get more out of the product. ;)

Have you ever wet sanded before thedallashilton????
