bug and tar remover that won't damage trim?

I used Stoner's Tarminator today and the overspray damaged trim, the car had severe tree sap over the roof and while i was extremely careful, some overspray hit the trim around the rear windshield. the trim was stained and in one spot bubbled up. Is there a product like it that effectively removes tar and sap without damaging trim?

Meguiar's bug and tar remover worked well on a vehicle for me, without any damage. You may try using clay, also. I like Clay Magic clay, but others will probably disagree.

They sell black paint for trim at any auto store, to cover up the damage. I had great results with that. Made them look brand new!

Rainx makes a new product the you can spray on your grill, headlights, etc., that protects against bugs sticking. It is not on their website yet, but it was on the shelf at the store.

That RainX stuff looks neat. I use PB Bug and Tar spray full strength. Works well with a Pinnacle Bug and Tar Sponge.
