Buffer Advise

Please advise!!!!

Yes, sore elbows and a lot of sweat hand waxing and buffing vehicles!!!! I have thought about trying a buffer but have heard that it is very easy to burn the paint. I have looked at some buffers and believe that if I were to buy, it would be an orbital due to me having no expierence with auto equipment. It appears to me that the rotary buffer should be limited to the more expierenced.

If an orbital buffer is the way to go, what brand is recommended? Types of pads (safe for first timers) to apply and buff off Klasse AIO & Sealant in addition to P21S.

I'm sure there are a lot of different recommendations but please keep in mind that I only have manual hand application expierence. If I do go through with the idea, I will work on my Elantra prior to taking on the Volvo XC90(T6) which is ash gold in color.

Thanks

Brad

Hey Brad,

What i thonk you should do first is search for threads on the Porter Cable Random Orbital, and read up on it a little. You will probably want to use it with Lake Country Pads, they seem to be the most user friendly. You can do damage with it, but it is very difficult to do. A rotary, while very easy to do damage with, is a stronger machine that can do more than the pc when it comes to scratches and swirls. Both have a place in a detailer arsenal, but to begin with i would recomend the PC.

Good luck
