Buff out scratches from my side mirrors?

I would suggest a glass polish and mothers powerball. Get your drill out and get polishing!

I have some glass polish if you dont have any, I would be happy to send some out to you, just cover shipping.

You may want to double-check with your dealer/manufacturer and make sure that the exterior side mirror is made of glass. I have the exact same situation as you (courtesy of my ignorance and some rough terry cloth towels), and in my course of reading here, I found out that a lot of mirrors are now made of plastic with a reflective coating that's easily scratched. I called my Honda dealer, and mine are made of plastic.

Here's the original thread.

Cool ill have to look into that. I believe I scratched mine by buffing off some wheel sealant i applied to them, I dont know why it caused that...maybe the MF I used was shot, I was pissed though.

I think your mirrors are plastic because glass is very hard

and I think it would take more then a bad MF it scratch it

try some Meg's Plast-x you should be able it find it @ K-mart

^^

I was thinking plastic too. Should I pick up a powerball with the ScratchX or will hand buffing be enough to be effective? Would claying the surface be a good idea before polishing?
